This assignment made me become very aware of the things around me that are influencing my life as an educational technologist. There are things on this survey that I’ve never even thought about, and this opened my eyes to some of the hard facts facing our schools. Not just my school, every school. We all have different problems, and often different strengths.

I was really happy to see that my district has a very comprehensive, strategic data-informed plan for their technology use. By looking in the lens of my district’s plan, my school has been doing a pretty great job in the time I’ve been here. The biggest issue is apathy of teachers, which is not unheard of, and I think will phase out over time. Our district’s professional development is really awesome.

I will continue to look at my school through this critical of a lens as I move through the program.
